The wait is over! Topshop at Meadowhall has finally reopened its doors (cue the applause).
I was invited to take a tour of the newly refurbished store to give my lowdown on its new look and pick out my must haves for this season…
What a transformation! Prepare to be wowed as you step through the doors and enter a fashion lover’s paradise. The store still sits in the same unit on the upper level of the Centre yet it seems so much bigger thanks to the impressive new store layout. The main swaps are that the shoe department has come upstairs, the changing rooms have moved downstairs and the escalators have moved to the left, leaving room for even more lines where the central escalators formally stood.
On entry to the store, go left and you’ll begin in the casual department. A rail of pastel jackets with clashing printed cami tops catch my eye. The perfect outfit for a weekend shopping break or informal lunch date.
Editors picks: Slim peplum jacket, £49 / Leaf print crinkle cami, £16
Move on and you’ll enter the summer shop – swimwear, floppy hats, sandals and kaftans to get you beach ready! It may only be spring but you better bag them early before they get picked over.
Editors picks: Felt floppy hat, £28 / Poppy check bikini set, £28
Next up you’ll find the brands at Topshop. Pops of yellow colour catch my eye among the collections of party dresses, playsuits, crop tops and pencil skirts.
Editors picks: HALO midi dress by TFNC, £42 / Bell sleeve playsuit by Love, £40
Now you’re at the back you’ll enter the shoe department – shelves stacked high with six rows of spring styles. I love the peep toe and heel shoe boots, strappy metallic stilettos and platform sandals.
Editors picks: HETTY cleated sole sandal, £30 / BARTON mid heeled shoes, £35
Go left again and you’ll be in accessories – the far right hand side of the store. The well merchandised displays have been cleverly colour-themed. The monochrome display features classic black totes, grey backpacks and white shoulder bags – I want one of each!
Editors picks: Arrow tote bag, £28 / Perforated backpack, £36
Be sure not to miss the nightwear and lingerie department just by the accessories. Florals and pastels dominate the displays – with a mix of silk and cotton textures.
Editors picks: Eyelash lace trim robe, £28 / Floral pj cami and shorts, £28
To finish the clockwise tour we reach the front right – a mix of going-out and officewear fill these rails. Simple and sophisticated – I love the tailored waistcoats, oversized suit jackets and wrap playsuits.
Editors picks: Drape front playsuit, £50 / Raw Sleeveless Jacket £42
The brand new store also brags a brand new complimentary styling service. Stylists are on hand across the shop floors to provide their expert advice quick-as-a-flash, perfect if you’re in a hurry on your lunch break (as I normally am) and need some advice on what to choose for a casual Friday night outfit or maybe even something for the big bank holiday weekend coming up! The service is free and also you don’t need to book…. Bonus! Something else they now have (a personal favourite of mine) is a make-up counter which has experts on hand to cater to any beauty and product enquires you may have- I personally can’t get enough of the Topshop Make-up range, their lipsticks are always at the bottom of any handbag of mine!
