FOOD: NYC guide to eating out

Not only is NYC a fashion lovers paradise, it hits the spot for us foodies too. Here’s my pick on where to wine and dine…

Hard Rock Café

Bang in the heart of Times Square you’ll find the world famous Hard Rock Cafe!

Rock your senses with tantalizing food and drinks and an awe-inspiring rock memorabilia collection.

There’s no way you’ll miss it – queues are usually half a mile down Times Square, so try to head there off-peak and mid-week if you can. But it’s worth the wait…

Priceless pieces from legends The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Billy Joel, The Ramones and Elvis Presley grace the cafe walls along with more contemporary items including stage costumes worn by Madonna and Gwen Stefani. The Times Square cafe also features rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia from Hard Rock’s unmatched collection, including artists with New York ties, such as John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, The Ramones and Bruce Springsteen.

hard-rock-cafe-tenerifeAs one of the city’s largest entertainment destinations, Hard Rock Cafe New York features a 708-seat restaurant, a recently opened 1,800 square-foot Rock Shop with authentic Hard Rock merchandise and a Hard Rock Live concert venue for performances and special events. Furthermore, the cafe boasts a unique outdoor space above the building’s historic marquee, where guests can host private parties amid the lights and excitement of Times Square.

What to order: A burger and a cocktail is a must, then finish off with the brownie mountain! Your waistline may not thank you for the 1,800 dessert (recommended to share) but boy, its good!

Ruby Tuesday

If you’re looking for a true NYC dining experience – head to Ruby Tuesday at Times Square! We visited for breakfast and indulged in a pancake stack lathered in syrup and bacon rashers plus a side of oatmeal bake.

Probably the only healthy option on there but be warned – portion sizes are hefty! Juice re-fills are free and food prices are fairly reasonable too. Well worth a visit!

Black Iron burger and beer co

black iron menu

Nestled in Manhattan’s East Village and Midtown West, the Black Iron Burger offers up delicious all natural, lifetime antibiotic and hormones free burgers, fries, onion rings and more for hungry New Yorkers and tourists alike. This New York burger joint is a great place to hang out with friends and family while enjoying a great meal and listening to a fantastic mix of music.

Relax with cosy and rustic décor and enjoy a unique hamburger cooked on a Keating Miracle griddle.  The smooth chrome surface locks flavour and freshness in.
Open for late night diners, this East Village burger restaurant also has ten draft craft beers on tap to wash down the burgers. Also try the malted Hagen Dazs ice cream milkshakes which are insanely good.

Bill’s

If you’re heading to the Rockefeller Centre then stop off for a bite to eat at Bill’s.

Bills-MP-neon

The biggest standalone burger joint in America, Bill’s at Rockefeller Centre serves American fare and juicy burgers. CNN have ranked Bill’s in the ‘Top 10 burgers’ in America and we have to agree! Bill’s began in New York City back in 2009, becoming an instant hit with both burger junkies and locals alike. With 400 seats, Bill’s serves up burgers and shakes made fresh daily.
