Atkinsons Department Store Sheffield welcomes the opening of a new Tea House Brand, Angelica’s Tea & Cake.
Formally Café Moda, the new Angelica’s Tea and Cake is a contemporary twist on the traditional tea room, it has cool and calming décor of neutral greys and creams with a splash of magenta pink and vintage inspires soft furnishings – very Cath Kidston-esque.
Sit back and relax on the ample armchairs and sofas, browse through one of the vintage cake cookery books, which are left out on the library unit for everyone to flick through, and just watch the world go by, with views of the city, whist tucking in to tea and cake.
The extensive menu includes a selection of hot food, fresh salads and artisan sandwiches plus high tea for a very reasonable £10pp – three tiers of sandwiches, cakes and scones.
Massarella’s Catering is the name behind the business and café manager Julie Highington has been with the company for 23 years. She told us: “The new look venue has been well received by customers old and new. I’ve been based at the Atkinsons store for the past 13 years and this is just the change the café needed. It looks fantastic.”
Working in collaboration with Sheffield charity, Safe At Last, Angelica’s Tea & Cake will be hosting a range of fundraising events over the forthcoming months – from live solo sessions to jazz shows.
