But aside from the menu, people come here for the drinks and to soak up the atmosphere too; thanks to Rudie’s choice of rum cocktails and relaxed reggae music.
We grab a window seat and I order the 1/4 jerk chicken with a side of peppers and sweet potato fries followed by the apple crumble and rum custard.
Rudie’s marinate the meat for at least 24 hours, cooked over real coal with selected wood chips that gives the meat its mild smokey flavour.
Visiting mid-week? Get half price chicken on Jerk Monday (Mon 5pm – 10pm) and Happy Hour £6 cocktails (weekdays 5pm – 9pm).
Visiting at the weekend? Order two courses and a rum punch and get unlimited top ups (limited to maximum of 6 people and a 2 hour time limit applies).
