I love trying out new gyms… a change of scenery is always motivating for me; gaining new workout ideas and taking inspiration from new people I meet.
I was recently invited to Firehouse Fitness at Leeds to take on the giffgaff gameplan fitness challenge… the two brands teamed up to give us (a group of fitness enthusiasts) the chance to boost our bank balances by burning calories. Simple as that.
giffgaff gameplan are passionate about getting people financially fit… when you have your eye on something, whether it’s a new car or the deposit for your first home, saving the money you need can feel like a struggle. So they gave us the chance to burn calories for cash.

All I had to do was step onto the treadmill to see how many calories I could burn in 20 minutes. I was paid 20p for every calorie burned (capped at £40 for 200 calories). Not bad for a morning sprint, hey?

Firehouse Fitness isn’t like any other gym I’ve trained at previously. It’s based on workouts designed around fireman drills (hence the name). Yes, it’s hard. Yes you’ll sweat. But it’s also motivating, fun and effective. Each class is different. You will never have the same routine — and never get bored.
