Five star spa experience at Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate
It doesn’t get much better than sipping a glass of champagne in a bubbling rooftop hot-tub. Living my best life, so they say.
I’m a regular spa-goer… it’s my favourite way to spend a weekend. And Rudding Park is up there with the best.
Granted, it’s much more expensive than your average spa, but you get what you pay for. Expect to be treated like royalty for the day.
My suitcase was carried to my suite while I checked-in at the rather fancy front entrance desk. As I nosy over my shoulder to the left, a grand pink chandelier catches my eye in the Clocktower restaurant; and a real olive tree is growing from the centre of an elegant looking conservatory room where guests are indulging in afternoon tea.
To get to the bedrooms, you pass through an elaborately decorated library and a maze of corridors.
Our robes and slippers were waiting for us on the king size bed, champagne-on-ice and complementary cookies. I definitely celebrated my birthday weekend in style!
Our bedroom windows looked out onto the picture-perfect gardens and spa. There’s an indoor pool downstairs, then upstairs is a heated rooftop pool, hot-tubs, experience showers, foot spas, steam rooms and a sauna with panoramic views. There’s even waiter service so no need to step out of the tub – you can sip your champagne while you soak.
When your wrinkly hands tell you it’s time to leave, head downstairs to the Horto spa restaurant for a light lunch. Breakfast is served here too.
We’d pre-booked massages so we headed over to the treatment area. Choose from facials, mud rasul rituals, massages, manicures and pedicures. Then take a snooze, like I did, in the black-out sleep room with a star-lit ceiling or lay back on a lounger in the deep relaxation area.
