BEAUTY: Get summer ready with Lancôme serum and Crabtree & Evelyn hand therapy

I was given a goody bag of beauty products at a blogging event I attended at Meadowhall Shopping Centre recently.

I tried and tested the Lancôme serum and Crabtree and Evelyn ultra-moisturising hand creams to get my skin summer-ready. Here’s the results…

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

30ml: £59, available at Boots

Said to be the number one serum for younger-looking and radiant skin, the advanced Génifique formulae has clinically proven results from 14 years of research. Suitable for all skin types, the serum targets ten signs of youthful-looking skin.

How to apply:

I carefully squeeze a few drops on to my fingertips and gently massage them across my face and neck using a circular motion. It feels smooth and silky – a similar texture to a primer, and my skin instantly feels alive. I follow this with my face cream application before bed.

The results:

The benefits are said to be a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst improving the appearance of radiance, clarity, firmness, evenness in skin tone and texture.

To buy or not to buy:

Within a week, I have to admit my skin appears to have a subtle glow and I receive a couple of ‘your skin looks healthy’ compliments. I’m impressed. It’s more expensive than the No.7 serum I’d been using previously, but perhaps a worthwhile spend given the immediate results.

Crabtree & Evelyn ultra-moisturising hand therapy

100g: £16, available at Crabtree & Evelyn

I was lucky enough to get my hands on three varieties of the ultra-moisturising hand therapy – the pink tube – pomegranate, argan and grapeseed; the green tube – avocado, olive and basil; and the yellow tube – citron, honey and coriander.

My favorite had to be the award winning avocado variety; a blend of shea and avocado butter, basil, macadamia nut and olive oils.

How to apply:

Squirt a small amount into the palm of your hand then rub hands together, moisturising between each finger and up and around the wrist area.

The results:

The thick moisturiser conditions hands leaving them feeling silky smooth thanks to the rich blend of ingredients. For best results, combine your daily moisturising routine with a conditioning hand wash and exfoliating hand scrub.

To buy or not to buy:

I love the scent and smooth texture – my hands certainly felt nourished. I don’t suffer from particularly dry skin; but a daily application would certainly be of benefit to keep my hands looking healthy and youthful.
